In theory it’s two tables, one for work (atop the sawhorse legs), and one for dining. But really it’s more like one table-top with a shelf below. What appears to be a misalignment of the tabletop from its legs is actually a hint; an alignment of its visible legs with its invisible ones. A reminder that the pristine planar surfaces of a room mask an irregular structural order of stud-framing, which in this case, enable a table to be centered in its room.
