ephemeral encounters

An intervention of diagramatic architecture based on a network of memories recorded at a public place on Northeastern’s campus. Time spent at this centrally-located quad represented for me a nascent, transient, and stranger-like relationship with the campus and other students, primarily from my first year of study. My process of reflection was diagrammed radially, with important memories recorded against their proximity to the quad. 

The following installation translates the 2-dimensional map to a network of columns. It aims to expedite visual connections between passers-by, students, and users of the space - a series of diverse mirrored columns, intended to create a kaleidoscope effect - multiplying the number of impressions any one person experiences at an otherwise mundane campus hub.
